Hooters Pro Golf Tour         

N. Myrtle Beach, SC… The National Golf Association’s Hooters Professional Golf Tour, returns to Savannah Lakes Village & Golf Clubs in McCormick, SC for The 2010 Savannah Lakes Village Classic April 26 - May 2, 2010.

A portion of the proceeds from The 2010 Savannah Lakes Village Classic will go to benefit The Ed Meyer First Responders.

The 2010 Savannah Lakes Village Classic is one of three premiere events on the tour with a purse of $250,000.

“We are excited to once again bring the Hooters Tour to McCormick County and Savannah Lakes Village & Golf Clubs,” said NGA/Hooters Tour President Robin L. Waters. “The players love the golf course and the way community gets behind the event one-hundred percent. It is always a first class event on a first class golf course.”

There will be a Savannah Lakes Village Junior Clinic held Monday, April 26, 2010 at 4:30 for selected McCormick County students interested in learning the fundamentals of golf as well as The Lakelands Orthopaedic Clinic Pro Am Classic on Wednesday that gives amateurs the chance to play with the future stars of the PGA TOUR.

The Savannah Lakes Village Shootout will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 1:15. The shootout is an alternate shot format in which a professional is paired with an amateur and one team is eliminated each hole until one team remains.

The NGA/Hooters Tour is the 3rd largest men’s 72-hole professional golf tour in the country behind the PGA and Nationwide Tours, and boasts alumni like 2007 Masters Champion Zach Johnson, 2003 PGA Champion Shaun Micheel, 2003 British Open winner Ben Curtis, 2003 US Open winner Jim Furyk, two time U.S. Open winner Lee Janzen, British Open and PGA Champion John Daly, as well as British Open winner Tom Lehman, PGA Champion David Toms, 2003 Tour Championship Winner Chad Campbell, 2004 & 2005 Reno Tahoe Open winner Vaughn Taylor and TPC winner Craig Perks to name just a few.
