The Monticello Golf Course is a 7,032 yard course along South Carolina’s “Freshwater Coast” set within a 4,000-acre lakefront sporting community nestled in 63,368 acres of national forest land and state parks along the 71,100 acre Lake Thurmond (also known as the Little River Blueway Adventure Region).
The Monticello Golf Course is a modern links course with fewer trees, rolling topography and a lot of water hazards. The course stretches 7,032 yards from the championship tees and features new (2012) mini-verde greens, zoysia collars, and bermuda fairways/rough. Water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes, which includes a dramatic lakefront peninsula midway through the front nine. Monticello is home to the National Golf Association's Pro Golf Tour’s premiere event, which visits the golf club in late April each year for the "Savannah Lakes Village Classic."
